A Short Seed Company Story
When I was a couple of years into my deep dive of seed companies, I started reading the letter that seed companies tend to put on the opening page of their seed catalogs.
That got me thinking about the people – the actual humans – behind each company. Some of these letters were personally from the company owner, some more generic.
The tone of those letters began to teach me something about the companies.
And that is when I decided to start calling all these seed companies and asking them each the same two questions and see how their responses differed.
Those responses generally fell into three categories.
- Generic or canned.
- Not helpful or having no way to answer my question. Or ..
- Really fantastic conversations.
Those conversations helped shape some of the criteria you’ll get with this free PDF and also gave me insight into how differently some companies are run from other companies.
The point of this story is that staying in relationship with actual people is one of the best ways to understand a seed company – or anything else. 😀
This is right for if you..
- Want to uncover how to know a good seed company.
- Have concerns about what practices seed companies engage in.
- Wish to simplify your seed buying.
- Are confused by all the contradictory ideas about Seed companies.
- Wonder if there is a clarifying way for you as a home gardener to know if a seed company is matches your organic standards.
